Hey everyone, Alec here. This week, I want to share some insights on the first half of Season 12 with the release of Juno and Clash, along with a sneak peek at some upcoming changes in the Midseason Patch and beyond.

Let’s dive into Juno first! It’s been amazing to see the community embrace our favorite Martian hero. Juno went through several iterations before becoming the hero you see today. Despite some initial concerns about her lock-on damage ability, players have adapted well to countering her Pulsar Torpedoes. Juno excels on Payload and Hybrid maps like Circuit Royal, King’s Row, and Blizzard World. It seems like her speed is more beneficial in tighter spaces than in open areas. While her ideal team composition is still evolving, we may see her paired more often with Ana or Brigitte in the future.

The feedback we received during Juno’s trial phase was invaluable in shaping her current state in Season 12. We are thrilled to see the excitement and support for Juno through fan art, gameplay clips, and overall enthusiasm. As we continue through the season, we will monitor how players interact with Juno’s kit to determine if any further adjustments are necessary.

Moving on to Clash, another exciting addition in Season 12. We designed Clash to offer fast-paced action with clear communication about the active objectives. We received feedback that the final objectives (A or E) were challenging to capture, leading us to split them into three segments for easier acquisition.

Despite some initial changes, we acknowledge that more tweaks are needed to enhance the Clash experience. Our priorities include reducing stomp rates, encouraging attackers to focus on objectives A and E, ensuring fairness, and maintaining clarity within the mode. These adjustments aim to improve the overall flow and competitiveness of Clash while addressing player concerns.

As we approach the Midseason Patch for Season 12, our focus is on balancing Tank survivability. Following the Tank patch in 2.11.1, Tanks, particularly D.Va, have become challenging to counter effectively. We plan to make adjustments to Armor and defensive passives in the Tank role to address this issue. Additionally, we are exploring changes to certain hero counters and considering tweaks to Sombra’s Stealth duration.

Stay tuned for the Midseason Update next week, which will also feature the Overwatch 2 x World of Warcraft special cosmetic event. We appreciate all the feedback and support from the community as we strive to create an engaging and enjoyable gaming experience for all players. Thanks for reading, and let’s keep making Overwatch a fantastic game.
