Planned Engineering Works to Impact c2c Lines Next Weekend

East London commuters are advised to prepare for disruptions across the c2c network this coming weekend. On Sunday, September 29, planned engineering works will affect all three c2c lines connecting London to Essex.

Basildon Line

The Basildon line will experience engineering work between Liverpool Street and Pitsea via Grays on September 29. As a result, services to Liverpool Street will be diverted to Fenchurch Street. While the service will make an additional stop at West Ham, it will not be stopping at Stratford. Commuters with valid tickets will have their tickets accepted on Jubilee line services between West Ham and Stratford.

Ockendon Line

Similarly, the Ockendon line will be impacted by the engineering works between Liverpool Street and Pitsea via Grays. Additional diversions will be in place on the line due to works between Upminster and Grays via Ockendon. Services will be redirected on an alternative route between Upminster and Pitsea, bypassing intermediate stations. To accommodate passengers, rail replacement services will operate between Upminster and Pitsea via Ockendon and Tilbury. Stations affected include Ockendon, Chafford Hundred, Grays, East Tilbury, Tilbury Town, Stanford-le-Hope, and Pitsea.

Rainham Line

Commuters planning to travel via the Rainham line on September 29 will also face challenges due to the ongoing engineering work between Liverpool Street and Pitsea via Grays. To assist passengers, rail replacement services have been arranged to serve between Upminster, Rainham, Purfleet, and Grays as standard Rainham line services will not be operational. Passengers heading to Dagenham Dock will have their tickets accepted on the EL2 and 287 TfL bus services.

In conclusion, commuters are encouraged to plan their journeys accordingly and allow for extra travel time due to the planned engineering works on the c2c network next weekend. Stay updated on any changes or updates to the services to minimize disruptions and inconvenience.
