A drug dealer in Lewisham was caught after mistakenly sending a text advertising heroin to a police officer due to a wrong phone number digit. Phillip Paul, a 25-year-old resident of Markwell Close in Lewisham, was sentenced to 3 years in prison by Chichester Crown Court on November 14. The investigation by Surrey Police began in March after discovering a drugs line operating in Redhill, Dorking, Leatherhead, and Epsom. The police officer received messages about the sale of drugs such as crack cocaine and heroin, which led to the identification of Paul as the main person behind the operation. Paul was arrested outside his home, where officers found cash, crack cocaine, heroin, and cannabis in his possession. He admitted to being involved in the supply of crack cocaine and heroin, as well as possessing cannabis during his court appearance.
