Nick Knowles and his partner Luba Mushtuk were eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing after a dance-off with Shayne Ward and Nancy Xu during the third results show. Nick, who is 62 years old, and Luba, who is 34, performed their Charleston routine to ‘Rain on the Roof’ from the film ‘Paddington 2’, while Shayne, 39, and Nancy, 33, danced the Cha Cha to ‘Ain’t No Love (Ain’t No Use)’ by Sub Sub feat Melanie Williams. The judges – Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke, and Head Judge Shirley Ballas – all chose to save Shayne and Nancy, resulting in Nick and Luba leaving the competition.

During their exit interview, Nick expressed his surprise at how much he enjoyed participating in the show and how much he cared about it each week. He also praised his partner Luba for her determination and thanked the show’s staff and his fellow competitors for their support. Luba, in turn, commended Nick for his hard work and dedication to the competition.

The results show also featured a special routine by professional dancers to Taylor Swift’s ‘Wildest Dreams’ and a performance by Snow Patrol. The remaining 12 couples will be back on the dancefloor in the next episode of Strictly Come Dancing on October 19, with the results show airing on October 20 on BBC One. Viewers can catch up on this weekend’s episodes on BBC iPlayer.

Nick and Luba will be appearing on ‘Strictly: It Takes Two’ for their first televised interview alongside Fleur East and Janette Manrara on October 14 at 6.30pm on BBC Two. Stay updated on London’s events, restaurant openings, and deals by signing up for the Going Out Out newsletter.
