Sainsbury’s is gearing up for the holiday season by hiring 20,000 new staff members to work across its stores, warehouses, and as drivers. These seasonal roles will last up to three months to assist with the expected increase in shoppers during the festive period. The supermarket is looking to fill 18,000 positions at Sainsbury’s and an additional 2,000 at Argos, with job opportunities ranging from shelf stackers and warehouse operatives to delivery drivers. The temporary contracts being offered can last anywhere from three weeks to a full three-month period. Pay rates are competitive, with in-store and warehouse staff earning between £12 and £13.50 per hour, while drivers can make between £13 and £14.65 per hour, depending on the location and role. In addition to the hourly pay, employees will also receive free meals during their shifts and a generous store discount of 10%, which increases to 15% on Fridays and Saturdays at Sainsbury’s, and on payday at Argos.
