A London man named Anopkumar Maudhoo, 45, from Wapping, was recently arrested on four counts of fraud by false representation. The arrest was made by the Eastern Region Special Operations Unit (ERSOU) following an investigation into a suspected large-scale conveyancing fraud. During the arrest, police seized a speedboat, 22 high-value cars including Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Aston Martins, along with documentation, digital devices, and approximately £70,000 in cash.

According to an ERSOU spokesperson, the investigation is related to fraudulent activities where victims were offered investment opportunities in the purchase of repossessed properties or the re-development of land. Maudhoo has been remanded and is set to appear at Southwark Crown Court on October 25, while three others were released under investigation pending further inquiries.

In another ongoing case, the trial for the murder of Harry Pitman, a 16-year-old who was stabbed in the neck while waiting to watch fireworks on New Year’s Eve, has begun. A 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named due to legal reasons, is charged with murder and possession of a knife in Primrose Hill Park. The trial is expected to last up to six weeks, and MyLondon will be providing updates on the case.
