Transport for London (TfL) has announced that four bus routes in London will be undergoing changes this upcoming weekend in September. These changes are part of TfL’s efforts to align with the Mayor’s Transport Strategy, which aims to have 80 per cent of journeys made via foot, bike, or public transport by 2041.

Currently, London has a bus fleet of around 9,300 buses operating on 675 different routes. The latest timetable changes are designed to “match demand, deliver value for money, and allow TfL to invest in outer London.”

Starting from Saturday, September 21, the following bus routes will have new timetables:

1. Route 160 will see minor changes to its timetable on all days of the week.
2. Route 207 will have revised journey times to better reflect current traffic levels.
3. Route 210 will have minor changes to its timetable, with an increase in early morning frequency on weekdays and weekends. Additionally, the times of first buses on Sundays will be adjusted to match those of Mondays to Saturdays.
4. Route W9 will also have minor changes to its timetable and will be operated by Metroline.

In addition to these changes, there are also long-term diversions affecting a wide range of bus routes in London, including routes 21, 24, 43, 47, and many more.

These timetable changes are important for ensuring efficient and effective public transportation services for London residents. By adjusting schedules and frequencies to match demand and traffic conditions, TfL aims to provide a better travel experience for passengers across the city.

It’s always a good idea to check for updates on bus routes and timetables, especially if you regularly use public transport in London. Keeping informed about these changes can help you plan your journeys more effectively and avoid any disruptions or delays.

Overall, these updates reflect TfL’s commitment to providing reliable and sustainable transportation options for the people of London. By making strategic changes to bus services, TfL continues to work towards creating a more efficient and environmentally friendly transport network for the city.
