Charlton Athletic manager Nathan Jones has decided to make some changes for today’s League One home game against Wrexham. After Luke Berry’s impressive performance with two goals in Tuesday’s draw at Barnsley, he has earned a spot in the starting line-up. Along with Berry, Greg Docherty, Tennai Watson, and Tyreece Campbell will also be starting for the Addicks. This means Miles Leaburn, Terry Taylor, Rarmani Edmonds-Green, and Allan Campbell will be on the bench for this match.
Interestingly, former Charlton captain George Dobson and Elliot Lee will be facing their former club for the first time since leaving. Eoghan O’Connell, who previously had a six-month stint with Charlton before being sold to Wrexham, will be starting on the bench for today’s game.
A crowd of 24,000 fans is expected at The Valley to support Charlton. It is worth noting that all five of Charlton’s league victories this season have been accompanied by clean sheets. However, the team has only managed to win one of their last seven matches against today’s opponents, Wrexham, with that victory dating back to February 1982.
The starting line-up for Charlton includes Mannion, Watson, Gillesphey, A Mitchell, Edwards, Docherty, Coventry, Anderson, Berry, Godden, and T Campbell. On the bench, they have Maynard-Brewer, Leaburn, Taylor, Hylton, Edmonds-Green, Small, and A Campbell.
On the other side, Wrexham will have Okonkwo, Cleworth, O’Connor, McClean, Palmer, Mullin, Dobson, Rathbone, Scarr, Barnett, and Lee starting the game. Their substitutes will be Burton, O’Connell, Cannon, Bolton, Faal, Revan, and James.
It will be an exciting match to see how these former players perform against their old club and if Charlton can continue their clean sheet streak. Stay tuned for the results of this highly anticipated game between Charlton and Wrexham at The Valley.
