A man and a woman have been charged in connection with the murder of Dontae McLaren, a 24-year-old who was stabbed to death last month. Tyanne Corbin, 25, and Hamid Hamdi, 25, appeared at the Old Bailey yesterday where they were charged with causing Mr. McLaren grievous bodily harm with intent, and violent disorder. Due to an active court reporting restriction, the addresses of the defendants cannot be published.
Both Corbin and Hamdi have been remanded in custody and are set to appear at Kingston Crown Court on November 6. The incident took place on September 29 when police were called just after 4 am following reports of a large group fighting with knives on Wandsworth Road. Upon arrival, officers, London Ambulance Service crews, and London’s Air Ambulance attended the scene. Despite efforts to save him, Mr. McLaren was pronounced dead at the scene.
Specialist officers are currently providing support to Mr. McLaren’s family during this difficult time. Previously, Dynzell Patrick, 26, appeared in court charged with Dontae’s murder and is scheduled to appear at the Old Bailey on December 23. Another 26-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and causing grievous bodily harm is currently out on bail and is expected to appear in court in early November.
The tragic incident has left the community in shock and mourning the loss of a young life. The police investigation is ongoing as they work to bring those responsible to justice. The local residents are urged to come forward with any information that may assist in the case.
Violence on the streets is a growing concern, and incidents like these serve as a reminder of the importance of community safety and support. It is crucial for authorities to work together with the public to prevent such tragedies from happening in the future. The memory of Dontae McLaren will live on, and his loved ones deserve justice for the senseless act of violence that took his life.
