Detectives are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man involved in the assault of an elderly person in Hammersmith. The incident occurred on Tuesday, July 2, at approximately 1 pm at Hammersmith bus station. The victim, an 85-year-old man, was trying to board the 220 bus when he was subjected to a violent attack.
According to reports, the victim was being considerate by allowing women and children to board the bus first, which apparently angered the suspect. The suspect began verbally abusing the elderly man and forcefully pushed him, causing him to fall and sustain a serious hip injury. The victim was rushed to the hospital, where it was confirmed that he had suffered a broken hip as a result of the attack.
In an effort to apprehend the suspect, detectives have released a CCTV image of the man they are looking to speak with. They are urging anyone who recognizes the individual in the image to come forward and assist with the investigation.
