The Gladiators series made a comeback on January 13, reintroducing the original hit show from 1992. One of the new Gladiators is Sabre, who will be appearing on Michael McIntyre’s The Wheel. Sabre, whose real name is Sheli McCoy, is a dedicated athlete who trains between 16 and 19 hours per week. Apart from her appearances on the show, the 36-year-old has a regular job running a gym in Dundee, Scotland, where she shares workout clips on Instagram.

However, Sheli’s journey has not been without challenges. She revealed that over 10 years ago, she was attacked by her ex-partner of eight years, resulting in black eyes. This traumatic experience led her to gain four dress sizes and develop a habit of binge eating. During a Q&A session in January, she opened up about her transformation, emphasizing the importance of becoming a role model and leader to inspire others.

Sheli aspires to empower women through her story and hopes that her character Sabre will inspire the younger generation of strong, capable females. She aims to follow in the footsteps of the Gladiators who once inspired her to become a confident and athletic woman. Sheli’s message is clear – it’s time for Sabre to shine and lead the way for powerful girls everywhere.
