A spooky and thrilling experience is coming to London just in time for Halloween. The House of Curses, a haunted art gallery, is set to open in Soho’s Poland Street featuring some of the most notorious haunted artworks and objects from around the country.

Curated by art historian Ruth Millington in collaboration with The Kraken Black Spiced Rum, the exhibition will consist of six mini-exhibits that promise to take visitors on a psychologically thrilling journey. Each piece will come with a haunted backstory that will be explored through a walkthrough audio guide.

Guests will start their journey in the Cursed Creatures section and make their way through the Ghost room where they will encounter haunted projector slides and original artwork by Zac Webb. The exhibition will also feature an original Damien Hirst skull and delve into internet lore before entering the Dolls room where the infamous Grace Doll is housed.

One of the highlights of the exhibition is the Unknown Girl painting, which sparked a media storm in 2023 after multiple owners reported chilling experiences and even having to call an ambulance after collapsing in its presence. Visitors will have the chance to spend a short time in the presence of this haunted painting before being escorted to The Kraken Bar for safety.

The bar will offer a menu of cocktails inspired by the haunted artworks, as well as sage-laced drinks to ward off evil spirits. Guests can also enjoy the services of a tarot card reader and a Zoltar machine for additional thrills.

Art curator Ruth Millington expressed her excitement about the exhibition, calling it the most intense she has ever curated. She emphasized the unique and terrifying experience that House of Curses promises to deliver for those brave enough to visit.

Tickets for Screamfest: House of Curses are priced at £10 and include entry to the exhibition as well as two complimentary drinks. The exhibition will run from October 31 to November 2 at 51 Poland Street in Soho. Don’t miss out on this spine-chilling and unforgettable experience that is sure to leave you with goosebumps.
