BioWare has been steadily releasing new information about the upcoming game Dragon Age: The Veilguard, set to be released in October. In their latest blog post, they revealed details about exploration in the game, as well as a new photo mode feature.

Players will have the opportunity to explore various locations around Thedas in The Veilguard, including Arlathan Forest, Hossberg Wetlands, Minrathous, Rivain, and Treviso. Each location will offer unique experiences, such as people to interact with, puzzles to solve, and lore to collect in a Codex. These locations can be accessed from a central hub area called The Crossroads, which also contains its own puzzles and missions. The Crossroads connects to the Lighthouse, where players can interact with companions and decorate their rooms.

Companions in The Veilguard will have specific exploration abilities that players can utilize while exploring the world. For example, Bellara can tinker with ancient Elven artifacts in Arlathan. Players can also use the Lyrium Dagger to access these abilities even without the companion present.

In addition to the exploration features, The Veilguard will also include a new photo mode. This mode allows players to use a free-roaming camera with various settings like tilt, focal length, and lens distortion. Players can hide characters, enemies, or NPCs to capture the perfect shot. The photo mode also offers settings for depth of field, auto focus, brightness, contrast, and more.

As the release date for Dragon Age: The Veilguard approaches, fans can expect more information to be released leading up to the launch on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC on October 31st. Stay tuned for more updates on this highly anticipated game.
