London Underground experienced significant disruptions on Saturday, September 21, with two lines partially closed and three others facing delays. As of 11:30 am, severe delays were reported on the Bakerloo line between Queen’s Park and Harrow and Wealdstone due to a signal failure at Kensal Green. To accommodate passengers, tickets were accepted on London buses and London Overground.
Additionally, minor delays were observed on the Hammersmith and City line and the Jubilee line, both caused by train cancellations. The District line was also affected, with service only running between Earl’s Court and Kensington (Olympia) due to cancellations. Meanwhile, the Metropolitan line experienced a full closure between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Uxbridge on September 21 and 22, with a replacement bus service, ML1, operating between the two stations.
On the Piccadilly line, there was no service between Acton Town and Uxbridge, with replacement bus service ML1 in place. Another replacement bus service, PL4, operated between Acton Town and Rayners Lane. In addition, the Waterloo and City line remained closed on weekends as usual.
Further disruptions were reported at Stratford International DLR station, which was closed due to a fire alert. As a result of these closures and delays, seven lines in total were affected:
