So, like, there’s more homes being planned for this old maternity hospital spot in Bexley. Bexley council wants to replace the abandoned hospital with a bunch of new buildings.
Originally, they were gonna have 117 homes, but now they’re thinking 121 homes is better. The plans include one, two, and three-bedroom apartments, as well as houses. Some of them will be affordable and wheelchair accessible, which is cool.
The hospital building is gonna get a facelift and they’re gonna build some new tower blocks. They’re also gonna keep a big tree in place and make sure there’s lots of greenery around. The hospital has been around since the 1930s and closed in the late 70s.
The old hospital will be turned into flats and the GP surgery next door will stay put. Bexley council has big dreams of having 180 homes here eventually. They also want to buy the land next door and build even more homes.
But we’ll have to wait and see how it all turns out. Not really sure why this matters, but it’s interesting to see how things change over time.
