Celebrate the Festive Season with Clarion Housing Group’s Christmas Market
Last week, the not-for-profit housing association Clarion Futures, the charitable arm of Clarion Housing Group, brought the entrepreneurial spirit of Bromley residents to life with a vibrant Christmas market at Anerley Town Hall.
Enterprising Futures Programme
The highlight of the event was the showcase of products and services by members of the Enterprising Futures programme. This initiative, tailored for Clarion’s residents, offers a wide range of courses and mentoring to nurture innovative ideas, develop robust business plans, and secure grants and funding for aspiring entrepreneurs.
One of the standout stallholders at the market was Niyah, the talented founder of NJ Twist, an event catering business. Through her participation in the programme, Niyah underwent rigorous training in various aspects of business management, including tax compliance, legal matters, social media strategies, and digital marketing techniques.
Supporting Local Entrepreneurs
Speaking about the Anerley Christmas Market, Phil Miles, the director of Clarion Futures, expressed his admiration for the hard work put in by these budding entrepreneurs. He emphasized the positive impact they are creating not only in their own lives but also in the broader Bromley community.
G15’s Advocacy for Not-for-Profit Housing Associations
As a member of the influential G15 consortium, Clarion Housing Group is part of a collective voice advocating for the sustainability of not-for-profit housing associations in London. The G15 is actively seeking long-term government support, including a decade-long rent settlement, access to the Building Safety Fund, and a rent convergence mechanism, to ensure the sector’s continued ability to fulfill its obligations to residents and contribute to the ambitious target of constructing 1.5 million new homes.
In conclusion, the Clarion Christmas Market was not just a festive gathering but a celebration of community spirit and entrepreneurial drive. It showcased the potential of local talent and underscored the essential role of not-for-profit organizations in fostering economic empowerment and social development. The event served as a reminder of the importance of supporting grassroots initiatives that have a meaningful impact on individuals and communities alike.
