Timothy West, the actor famous for his roles in EastEnders and Coronation Street, sadly passed away at the age of 90 last year. The beloved actor died peacefully in his sleep at a care home where he was receiving palliative care, surrounded by his family. An inquest was held to determine the cause of his death after a nurse found him at Wandsworth Common Care Home – Avery Collection.

The inquest revealed that Timothy had suffered a traumatic brain injury after an unwitnessed fall near his home in August 2024. He spent three months in the hospital before being transferred to the care home for palliative care. Despite receiving appropriate care, he was not well enough to return home and passed away on November 12, 2024. His family, including his wife Prunella and children Juliet, Samuel, and Joseph, expressed their deep sadness at his loss.

Timothy’s agent released a statement on behalf of his children, highlighting his long and extraordinary life both on and off the stage. The statement also thanked the NHS staff for their loving care during his final days. EastEnders paid tribute to Timothy, remembering his role as Stan Carter in the show. His son Samuel shared that Prunella, who had been diagnosed with vascular dementia, was struggling to comprehend the news of her husband’s passing.

In an emotional interview, Timothy had previously opened up about being a carer for Prunella and the challenges they faced due to her condition. Despite the difficulties, he remained by her side, providing love and support. The couple’s enduring bond was evident as they navigated through the changes brought on by Prunella’s illness. Timothy’s legacy as a talented actor and devoted husband and father will always be remembered by those who knew and loved him.
